FAQ's

Flashing mode LED indicates low battery power. Please recharge it.

After pairing the controller with the Switch, you can easily wake up the Switch console from sleep mode by pressing the HOME button on the Zen Pro. You can do the same when the Switch is on the dock.

You can reset the controller by pressing the Gear and “-” buttons simultaneously. You can also reset it by turning it off and on again.

Normally, no pin is needed for pairing. Please check from Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Add a device, then select the controller, and enter without typing anything.

You may upgrade it with the latest firmware to enable Professional Player Mode. When the controller is powered on, press the Gear Set and Mode buttons to enter Professional Player Mode with a short vibration. The customized settings you make will be saved for a long time.

You can return to regular mode by pressing the Gear Set and Mode buttons again with a long vibration indication. The controller is restored to factory settings, and the customized settings are deleted in regular mode each time the controller is turned on again.

There are many differences between the Auto-Pilot Gaming (APG) function on our controllers and the regular macro function on other controllers.

  1. APG function can record any settings on all buttons and sticks, while regular macro cannot.
  2. APG function can set any time parameters, while macro can only work with a fixed time interval.
  3. APG function can record 100 sets of data per second, including all data from the stick settings, while the macro function can only record a dozen data points in a fixed order.
  4. APG function records precisely any inputs, while macro just records input with key-by-key order.
  5. APG function has a recording capacity (NS09) for 60,000 sets of data over a 10-minute period, while macro can only record a fixed key order in a few seconds.

FPS games on PC that use ZL/ZR for aiming and the right stick for viewing are supported by the motion aiming assist function with our controllers. For instance, PC games like Gears 5, BIOHAZARD RE:2, BIOHAZARD RE:3, etc. No extra driver is needed, and you can set up the motion aiming assist function for such FPS games on your computers.

Yes, you can control the sticks when your controller is upgraded to the latest firmware. Stick control is the top priority in APG mode, meaning you can still control the sticks, and the controller only auto-runs other actions in APG mode.

You can restart it by double-clicking the mode button to turn it off and clicking again to turn it on. If you cannot turn it off by double-clicking the mode button, please press the button with a small pin or a toothpick inside the hole on the backside to restart your controller.

Calibration is needed when Zen Pro controllers are upgraded to firmware V2.6. Just press the four buttons: L, R, left of the D-pad, and A at the same time to quickly calibrate the sticks. ZR, ZL will vibrate to indicate the calibration is complete. Please do not touch the sticks ZR, ZL during calibration. No updating is needed on Elves controllers; simply perform the same calibration procedure to resolve the issue.

Signal loss during Bluetooth transmission can cause mismatching issues during APG mode. If you encounter this problem, try spending more time in a blocking area during the recording step to improve signal stability. For example, in the game Mario U, extend Mario’s time in a blocking area by one extra second.

Typically, there should be no issue because pressing the APG button for 3 seconds puts the controller into recording standby mode. Recording begins only when a button or stick is pressed. If there is a delay or no actions initially, it may be due to stick drifting. Try calibrating the sticks after updating them to version 2.1 to resolve this issue.

To test the sticks and buttons:

  • For Nintendo Switch, navigate to Console Settings > Controller and Sensors > Check Input Settings > Calibrate Sticks > Test Sticks and Buttons.
  • For PC, download the XINPUT test software from our website to test sticks, buttons, and vibration.
  • For Android, download the gamepad test app from our site to test sticks, buttons, and vibration.

Elves controllers support iOS 13 or above and work with games that support the original iOS game controller protocol. For example, Elves controllers support Fortnite on iOS but not PUBG. To play PUBG on an Android system, download an app like “Tencent Game Manager” for key mapping. Currently, “Tencent Game Manager” does not have an iOS app.

If there’s a delay or incorrect movement after pressing:

  • On PC, use the XINPUT test software from our site to test sticks and buttons.
  • On Nintendo Switch, check Console Settings > Controller and Sensors > Check Input Settings > Calibrate Sticks > Test Sticks and Buttons.
  • If testing shows the controller and transmission are functioning correctly, check game settings or internet speed. Delay or incorrect moves may be caused by different game settings, internet speed, or game read speed issues. Always test the buttons and sticks as mentioned above to ensure the controller’s functionality.

Ensure your TV’s game mode is enabled. Disable dynamic compensation, noise reduction, or similar functions (often named differently such as sports compensation or frame rate compensation) as they can introduce delays.

  1. If using a Bluetooth adapter, ensure it’s not near WiFi routers or similar devices to avoid signal interference.
  2. Most Bluetooth adapters require a Bluetooth driver on your computer, which may cause delays if the CPU is heavily occupied or due to adapter issues. Consider using a controller-specific Bluetooth adapter for improved performance, which doesn’t require a driver.
  1. Upgrade directly to the latest firmware version (e.g., V2.2) without needing to step through intermediate versions. If a firmware upgrade fails and the controller becomes unresponsive, connect it to your PC via USB, press and hold the APG button, then press or double-press the mode button until a flash drive appears. Copy the firmware onto the flash drive to complete the upgrade.

  1. For Windows 8 and above, no additional driver software is needed. If using a version below Windows 8, install the required driver from Microsoft’s website.

  1. DINPUT is an older connection protocol suitable for playing retro games or simulators on Windows. For newer games, XINPUT mode is recommended.

  1. If your PC lacks Bluetooth, use a wired connection. Select the appropriate mode on the controller, then connect it to your computer using a USB C to USB A cable. For desktops, use a USB A port on the backside for better stability.

If wireless pairing issues occur due to Bluetooth interference:

    1. Place the Switch in its dock and set it to pairing mode.
    2. Connect the controller to the Switch dock using a USB A to USB C cable.
    3. After a few seconds, the Switch will pair with the controller.
    4. You can unplug the cable, and the Switch will remain wirelessly paired with the controller. The controller can also function as a wired controller when connected via cable.

The controller enters sleep mode after 10 minutes of inactivity. Press any ABXY button to wake it up quickly.

Single-click the mode button to turn on the controller (mode LED on). Double-click the mode button to turn it off (mode LED off).

Due to changes in the Bluetooth driver in Switch system version 12.0.0, disconnection issues may occur. Resolve this by:

  • Go to System Settings > Controllers and Sensors > Disconnect Controllers.
  • Hold X to delete all wireless controller pairing records.
  • Re-pair your controllers with the Switch to resolve the issue.

Why can’t the controller connect to my PC with a Bluetooth adapter? Please shut down your computer first and then turn it back on (note that this is not a restart). Next, attempt to establish a new connection to the controller. If it still does not work, please try updating the Bluetooth adapter driver.

How do I fix the problem where an error occurs showing failure when copying the learning APG file for write-back? When copying the learning APG file for write-back, do not change its name; keep the default filename as Auto.apg.
